I enjoy fantasy epics and this one kept me interested the whole time. This is a young author and her first book but she writes with the skill of a more seasoned and experienced writer. I couldn't put the book down. Easy to read with a great story line. Would highly recommend it.
A Terrible Blessing, a coming of age story that portrays the harrowing journey of young Julianna Kander. Montague gives readers a new perspective of dystopia life and what it means to truly be human. With complex and intriguing characters the novel becomes more then just a story of a lost girl. A Terrible Blessing is relatable, everyday struggles are found in every crevice of Montague's writing. The novel is intertwined with adventure, family, anger, loss and love. It is fast-paced, exciting and beautifully written.
I think this is an excellent book for a young teen who likes adventure and magic!
I could not stop reading as the book drew me in and I grew to love the characters!
This was such a fun book to read. It had romance, adventure, and depth of characters. I appreciated how even the "evil" characters had such complexity. This is one of those books you save and reread!! I definitely recommend it.
M.E.Montague's book, A Terrible Blessing, is anything but. This book grabs you at page one and won't let go. I haven't read a book this good in years. I hope to see a lot more from Montague in the future.
I bought this for my 12 year old son. He loved it. This author is new and also a local from our hometown, which we thought was really neat. He says it's definitely worth the time to read it and he would share it with his friends to read.
