Not what I expected from the description.No mention of apocalypse,zombies.Not a big fan of apocalyptic stories.As far as books go it was ok.If I really was into this type of book I would want more fighting with the monsters and stuff to stay alive.Not liking what Sam did.Dane was a good character,Olivia was a strong heroin.Next time be clear on the theme,probably wouldn't of read it.Product details

when I realized it was "different world" kind of book I was hesitant.

Dane and Olivia were great!!
Dane definitely an alpha male. gotta love those!
Olivia wasn't some weak princess. she fought and was tough!!
I first read Chantal Fernando when she wrote Dragons Lair. I really liked her writing style. I really enjoyed this book. It was something different from her other books. I really enjoyed the characters of Olivia and Dane. Olivia is a beautiful young woman who is able to keep up with her man. I highly recommend this book. You will truly enjoy it.

This is my first zombie romance book. I actually did not know that this was a zombie book. Funny because I thought this was a mafia romance. Then I got confused after they started saying the zombie this and that. I was like okay. The alpha male in this book Dane he is hot and very protective over the oliviA. Who happens to be the bride he was arranged to marry. They live in a fort/castle and live by protecting themselves from the bad zombies outside the fort.
What's a girl to do when she's forced to pick someone to marry? Olivia picks the one man who she had been secretly lusting after. Only problem was he didn't want to marry her. OMG! Loved it!! I found the storyline to be action packed, entertaining as hell, full of passion and had humor. Definitely held my attention until the end. Olivia and Dane were lovable characters that belonged together. She's strong, funny and determined not be looked at as a helpless spoiled princess. He's bossy, loyal, a force to reckon with as a fighter and protective of Olivia. Sparks fly between the two as they battle flesh eating monsters and work toward survival.
Quick, simple, minimal angst, no cheating and a solid HEA. The book does have some editing issues but nothing repulsive; just word mix-ups. The H was jealous and possessive. The h was a good match for the H. If you're hesitant because you're thinking this is a futuristic sci-fi romance, then don't be. The MCs and the romance is the #1 focal point in the storyline. If you want a quick romance fix that's engaging, sexy and funny then this is the book for you.
This story was so different from those of Fernando past....but I totally loved. Setting in the 2020's...there has been a horrible virus that killed nearly everyone. Forced to reside in an old castle, nearly 100 survivors within the safety of the wall surrounding them. Olivia, our brave heroin and our storyteller, is forced to choose a mate, her father is the leader or King, of this group, which makes her a princess. Choosing the darkest and sexiest of the bunch, she goes for Dane. Oh and he's pissed...he doesn't want to be forced into marriage and he's happy leading the scouting trips that go beyond the walls.
Needless to say, a wedding takes place, closely followed by an untimely death...and then comes action. And by action...I don't mean just in the bedroom...We also get Zombies and freaky mutated animals. But...We also get our HEA...it was a quick clever read..and beyond enjoyable!
I read this book because it was recommended on the jealous possessive hero forum. The hero, Dane, certainly fits, which
I always liked. In fact, both Dane and the heroine Olivia were likable characters. They were down to earth and no TSTL
moments from either of them. I liked that both were faithful. Once Dane noticed Olivia he did not look at at any other
women. I loved his jealous alpha moments when the thought that another man was paying too much attention to her.
I also liked the ending and look forward to reading their daughter's story.
One thing that was disappointing are the sex scenes. While there are plenty of them, none of them are good. I could not
feel any chemistry between Dane and Olivia. Also there was too much telling and not enough showing or feeling. It was like insert
slot A into slot B. Very mechanical. Also some were fade to black. At times the story was choppy and did not flow properly.
Also I hated what happened with her best friend at the end. Also Dane's best friend went from being a decent character to doing things that made
him less likable IMO.
